Visit Zane

Brand Identity Design & Strategy

Introduction

I collaborated with accessory and jewelry store Zane to refresh the brand. Along with assisting in strategy, I designed brand assets for both digital and physical materials such as bags, boxes, tags, label icons etc.

The idea of the rebrand sparked from Zane’s store being a hot spot for accessories and jewelry on Toronto’s trendy shopping district of Queen St. West. With Zane’s vast experience in the fashion world and working relentlessly with suppliers to provide products that balance his core values of quality, price and style, Zane is a go-to curator to find pieces that perfectly express an individual’s style.

Ideation

For a long time, Zane used the visitzane.com URL for his website and we decided to add the call to action directly into the branding of the new name. It encapsulated everything that Zane envisioned for his brand: the one stop shop for everything accessories and jewellery. Zane also works with some of the best accessory designers both locally and internationally and therefore the Visit Zane name alludes to his skills as an expert in the industry.

We had the idea to create a logo that was flexible and that would play off the name of Visit Zane. The rectangular container allowed us to bring Zane’s strategic position as a connoisseur of accessories and jewellery to the forefront of the business as Zane’s name in the logo can be switched for products, brands, events, etc. It supports an evolving marketing strategy to push Visit Zane as a store that carries world class products and expertise. This meaning allowed us to be creative in the ways Visit Zane showcased products and brands. Visit Zane also released its own private label of jewelry that was branded using the same assets. The collection was a hit and sold above expectation and resulted in a high stock turnover for its industry.

The rebrand clarified Zane’s brand as a whole. It now effectively communicates the essence of his character and his relationships with his suppliers and brands.

The modular nature of the logo encourages people to live and speak the brand and it creates conversation with the different ways the Zane section of the logo can be interchanged. Below you will see the different ways Visit Zane can collaborate with entities such as tourism boards, restaurants, and fashion brands. The colour pattern of the brand can also change with the seasons. This is a concept to be further explored.

A strategy in the works is to create customized swag for customers with their names, etc. in the logo.
